Dycor’s I-CAP roll-on liners obviate the necessity for thermo plastic inserts used in conjunction with transtibial frame sockets. In essence, a more flexible and less elastic insert is built into the lower half of the I-CAP liner. This design permits localized fenestration of the socket for pressure and weight bearing management of soft tissue without compromising hydrostatic containment.
The I-CAP liner should be used only with volumetrically stable residue, and is custom fabricated from an anatomically and volumetrically correct transparent static test socket with trim lines. For pin suspension I-CAP liners, pin alignment reference and circumferential measurements at 2 inch increments starting above the patella are necessary. The thigh circumference measurements are reduced 10% for determination of the upper half liner dimension. The liner is preflexed 20 degrees and the patella area of the liner is not subjected to the 10% circumference reduction. Cushion I-CAP liners have a finished 3/32” radius proximal trim line corresponding to the static test socket.
I-CAP liners are hydrostatically stable because the silicone matrix from the knee down is reinforced with a flexible non elastic substrate and a flexible elastic substrate from the knee up.
Dycor I-CAP transtibial roll on liners are available in extra soft, soft, medium, firm & extra firm durometer in an assortment of colors. As with all Dycor CAP liner products, the silicone matrix is doped with vitamin E enriched mineral oil (DL-Alpha-Tocopherol) to inhibit contact dermatitis (unless otherwise specified). |
