| Similar to the Transtibial elastic liner, the circumferal measurements are reduced 7 ½%. To compensate for this reduction the overall length of the model is increased 5%. Unlike the transtibial version, there is no matrix level between the outer and inner nylon reinforced sub straight layers with the exception of the medial proximal area. The matrix layer in this area can be either be 3/8 or ½” thick. Similar to the inelastic Transtibial liner, an inelastic bi- directional fiberglass substrate layer is applied between the two nylon sub straight layers and over the proximal medial matrix layer. This allows for roll on application of the liner, and will not allow for the liner expansion during weight bearing. Consequently, the inelastic Transfemoral cap liner can be used with bi valve, frame or fenestrated sockets without the necessity for a thermal plastic insert. |
